We were approached earlier this year by The Old Hall Hotel Caister to revamp their restaurant area into what’s now known as Branford’s. With the establishment being used by both diners and hotel guests, it needed to be a functional space that had a feeling of luxury. We used copper detailing to great effect in the designs for the furniture and fittings.
The hotel had recently had a ‘facelift’ so, when designing the furniture, the owners of the Old Hall Hotel wanted us to take into account some of the existing features. We were able to use the new carpet as a focal point that provided us with a fantastic start for the colour scheme. We set about creating mood boards that would bring together a unique feel to the elegant restaurant room.
We used a range of different statement furniture styles. Using three variants of grey wools, a textured lux green velvet allowed the design to have the wow factor whilst maintaining an approachable feel. We adapted our Tamar range of side chairs to different heights depending on where they were being used. All were fitted with bespoke copper studs. In addition to this, we created some exclusive deep button backed lounge chairs especially for Branford’s Restaurant.
The Old Hall Hotel is a grand building, but maintaining a functional feel was also important with this décor so we used solid rustic planked oak for the table tops, as well as a bespoke-designed and manufactured grey-stained sideboard with copper cup handles. The window décor was also addressed during this transformation. To help create a grand feel to the room, we bespoke manufactured upholstered pelmets (again with copper studs to match the chairs and lighting details). To pull the whole room together, we incorporated copper ceiling lamps.
